Detailed coverage of invasive species threatening livelihoods and the environment worldwide

Abstract

The Coccinellidae (Coleoptera) of Bermuda.

Abstract

Fourteen species of Coccinellidae occurring on Bermuda are described with details of their distribution, prey and immature stages. Keys for the identification of adults and larvae are included. Decadiomus hughesi sp. nov. is described. It is thought that this species was introduced in 1951 as 'Scymnus sp.' for biological control. Adults preyed on Pseudococcus longispinus, Icerya purchasi, Coccus viridis and Carulaspis minima while larvae preyed on P. longispinus and Pseudaulacaspis pentagona.
