Observations on the activity of gundhi-bug, Leptocorisa oratorius (Fabr.) in Bay Islands.
The biology of the coreid Leptocorisa oratorius was studied in the field on rice in Andaman Island, India, during 1985-86 using light traps. Infestations of rice were initiated in June and populations peaked during September-November. Echinochloa crus-galli and E. colonum served as important alternative food plants. The presence of these weeds in rice fields during fallow periods allowed the pest to survive.
