Abstract

Fungicide resistance. Present situation and fungicide strategies for benzimidazoles in Denmark.

Abstract

Widespread tolerance of benzimidazoles was detected in lab. tests on field isolates of Pseudocercosporella herpotrichoides and Gerlachia [Monographella] nivalis from cereals and of Botrytis cinerea from peas and strawberries. Unacceptable control under field conditions has been reported for P. herpotrichoides in cereals, B. cinerea on strawberries, Venturia inaequalis on apples, and Sphaerotheca mors-uvae and Gloeosporidiella [Drepanopeziza] ribis on blackcurrants. Use of these fungicides alone or in mixtures on these crops has been limited. This paper was presented at the Seminar on control strategies for plant diseases - resistance biology and fungicide resistance, held in Århus, Denmark on 30 Jun. 1987.
