Abstract

Gastrointestinal nematodes in Gavia stellata and Gavia arctica (Gaviidae).

Abstract

One G. arctica and 2 G. stellata, found dead between 1975 and 1978 in Lower Silesia, Poland, were examined. Capillaria mergi was the only gastrointestinal nematode found in G. arctica; it is a new host record. G. stellata, in addition to C. mergi also contained Paracuaria tridentata, Contracaecum rudolphii (a new host record) and Stegophorus stellaepolaris, which is reported for the first time for Poland.
