Abstract

Pistachio seed chalcid, Megastigmus pistaciae Walker (Hymenoptera: Torymidae) in California.

Abstract

A field survey using yellow sticky traps was carried out on the distribution and biology of Megastigmus pistaciae on pistachios in California during 1984-85. This species was present in at least 11 Californian counties. Levels of infestation ranged from 0 to 100%. Nut and sticky trap collections indicated 2 primary flight periods/year in June and August-September.
