Invasive Species Compendium

Detailed coverage of invasive species threatening livelihoods and the environment worldwide

Abstract

Species and provenance trial of selected fuelwood species.

Abstract

Trials with 4 species were conducted at Cabagan Forest Research Station, Cabagan, Isabela, Philippines, in July 1981. Growth and survival were monitored for 3 yr. Ipil-ipil (Leucaena leucocephala) and akleng-parang (Albizia procera) had the highest field survival (80%), followed by kakauate (Gliricidia sepium, 65%), and agoho (Casuarina equisetifolia, 53%). Despite its relatively low survival, agoho out-performed the other species in height and diameter growth.
