Invasive Species Compendium

Detailed coverage of invasive species threatening livelihoods and the environment worldwide

Abstract

Insecticidal and insect repellent activity of essential oils of Tridax procumbens and Cyathocline lyrata.

Abstract

The essential oils from both species exhibited insecticidal activity against Musca domestica, Culex fatigans [C. quinquefasciatus], Dysdercus similis and Supella spp. The oil of T. procumbens was more potent than that of C. lyrata, and also exhibited strong repellent activity against three ant species.
