Abstract

The female parent of Mandya (originally EH5131) is CM202 Ă— CM111 and the male parent is Suwan 1. In trials in Karnataka during 1983-86 it outyielded Deccan 103 by 10.7% and showed a significantly lower incidence of downy mildew (Peronosclerospora sorghi). It is medium in height (165-170 cm) and matures in 115-120 days.
