Kikuyo grass (Pennisetum clandestinum Hochst ex Chiov.) a new weed in Chile.
P. clandestinum was identified for the first time in Chile in Apr. 1985. It is invading fruit orchards, vineyards and pastures in the coastal areas and in the irrigated fields of Copiapó (Region III), Elqui and Limarí (Region IV). It has also been found in some localities of Valparaíso (Region V) and around Melipilla (Metropolitan Region).
