Abstract

New data on the occurrence in Poland of Perilitus rutilus Nees (Hymenoptera, Braconidae) as a parasite of the pine weevil - Hylobius abietis L. (Coleoptera, Curculionidae).

Abstract

Observations were carried out in 1977-81 on the occurrence of Perilitus rutilus parasitizing the forest pest Hylobius abietis in central and western Poland. The parasitoid was recorded at 13 of the 14 sites examined in 6 localities, and it was new to 5 of these 6. It occurred in about half of the weevil samples taken, but on average only about 2.5% of specimens were parasitized. However, up to 28% were parasitized in a few samples.
