Invasive Species Compendium

Detailed coverage of invasive species threatening livelihoods and the environment worldwide

Abstract

A short bibliographical review of Trichomalus perfectus Walker, a parasite of the seed pod weevil, Ceuthorrhynchus assimilis Payk.

Abstract

A short bibilographical review of the biology and ecology of the pteromalid Trichomalus perfectus, the most common parasitoid of the curculionid rape pest Ceutorhynchus assimilis, is given. It is suggested that monitoring its numbers may be one way of obtaining a good indication of whether pyrethroids applied to kill insect pests of rape also kill the natural enemies of these pests.
