Invasive Species Compendium

Detailed coverage of invasive species threatening livelihoods and the environment worldwide

Abstract

The propagation of Casuarina species from rooted stem cuttings.

Abstract

Successful rooting (60-100%) was achieved with mature softwood stem cuttings of C. equisetifolia, C. cunninghamiana, C. montana, C. suberosa and Gymnostoma papuanum. Cuttings responded to IBA treatment with callus and/or root initiation. Nodules formed when 4- to 6-wk-old cuttings were inoculated with Frankia.
