Abstract

A device developed in Maharashtra, India, for the application of insecticidal dust for the control of the sorghum midge [Contarinia sorghicola] on sorghum is described. It was shown to be very simple and economical to use and can easily be constructed by the farmer. It is specifically designed for dusting tall crops such as sorghum and sugarcane for the control of C. sorghicola and Pyrilla, respectively.
