Invasive Species Compendium

Detailed coverage of invasive species threatening livelihoods and the environment worldwide

Abstract

Pathological fungi intercepted in imported seed and planting material during 1982.

Abstract

Destructive pathogens intercepted included some not yet recorded in India (Peronospora manshurica and Fusarium nivale [Monographella nivalis]); with restricted geographical distribution (Septoria [Leptosphaeria] nodorum); having many or more virulent races (Drechslera maydis [Cochliobolus heterostrophus], Puccinia carthami, Tilletia caries, T. foetida and Neovossia [T.] indica); and of wide range (Botrytis cinerea, Fusarium solani and D. sorokiniana [Cochliobolus sativus]). Pathogens of considerable economic importance are listed and the most important ones are discussed from the quarantine viewpoint.
