Abstract

Indian isolates of the virus, all transmitted by Bemisia tabaci were grouped into 3 strs. on the basis of symptoms on tomato. Weed hosts such as Acanthospermum hispidum, Ageratum conyzoides, Parthenium hysterophorus, Datura stramonium, Euphorbia geniculata and Gynandropsis pentaphylla were sources of inoculum for tomato. The ornamentals Zinnia elegans, hollyhock and Tagetes erecta were also naturally infected.
