Detailed coverage of invasive species threatening livelihoods and the environment worldwide

Abstract

Introduced pine sawfly in Manitoba.

Abstract

A brief description of the life history and chemical control of Diprion similis, introduced into North America from Europe in 1914. It feeds on pine species such as Pinus resinosa, P. banksiana and P. sylvestris, and prefers P. strobus. The sawfly has no effective natural controls and could cause serious defoliation.
