Abstract

Kudzu control chemicals.

Abstract

Of the herbicides evaluated for the control of kudzu (Pueraria lobata), the standard treatment of 5.8 lb picloram pellets (as Tordon 10K)/ac was the best treatment, providing complete control for one growing season in one of the 2 trials reported. Other effective treatments were 4 lb tebuthiuron pellets/ac, 1.08 lb picloram + 4 lb 2,4-D/ac (as Tordon 101), 8 lb tebuthiuron w.p./ha and dicamba + 2,4-D (as Banvel 720) at 4 + 8 lb and 3 + 6 lb. Follow-up spot treatments were required in every case.
