Abstract

Application of Depra and Zenkor to potatoes.

Abstract

In trials during 3 yr with potatoes grown on a dernopodzolic soil, Depra [napropamide] at 4 kg/ha pre-em. decreased populations of weeds including Chenopodium album, Stellaria media and Capsella bursa-pastoris by 72%, was not effective against Echinochloa crus-galli and had no effect on tuber yields. Zenkor [metribuzin] at 1 kg/ha early post-em. decreased populations of weeds including E. crus-galli by 78% and increased the av. yield by 19%. The pre-em. application of Zenkor was less effective.
