Silvicultural characteristics of native and exotic species in plantations of the Centre for Timber Technology - Curuá-Una Experiment Station.
Growth performance up to 1977 is reported of 47 native and 18 exotic species planted at study sites in Pará, Brazil, in 1959-1963. Promising native species included: Anacardium giganteum, Bagassa guianensis, Bertholletia excelsa, Buchenavia huberi, Didymopanax morototoni, Goupia glabra, Jacaranda copaia, Parkia multijuga, Simarouba amara, Vatairea guianensis, Virola cuspidata, and Vochysia maxima. Performance of Pinus caribaea hondurensis and Eucalyptus spp. was also good.
