Detailed coverage of invasive species threatening livelihoods and the environment worldwide

Abstract

The cabbage moth (Mamestra brassicae L.).

Abstract

The biology and harmfulness of Mamestra brassicae (L.) on brassicas and other crops such as lettuce, peas and sugarbeet in Austria are described. It is recommended that control measures should be applied against the pest about 10 days after the oviposition peak, which is monitored by examining about 15 plants once a week for eggs. Organophosphates and pyrethroids can be used for its control.
