Abstract

Control tests against the pear rust mite (Epitrimerus pyri Nal.).

Abstract

The results are given of control tests in 1980-82 in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy against Epitrimerus pyri (Nal.) on pear, using different combinations of various acaricides. The most effective treatment programmes, permitting the lowest percentages of damaged pears, comprised an application of DNOC at 600 g/hl at the bud stage, followed at petal-fall 15 days later by one of 42% dicofol at 150 g/hl, or 2 applications of dicofol applied at the bud and petal-fall stages.
