Taxonomic, nomenclatural and distributional notes on Canadian weeds and aliens.
As a result of preparatory work for an inventory of Canadian weeds and aliens, various taxonomic and nomenclatural changes are proposed and new distributions reported for spp. belonging to Fabaceae, Lamiaceae, Poaceae, Rosaceae, Caryophyllaceae and Dipsacaceae. The confusion in nomenclature of Agropyron pectiniforme sometimes called Triticum pectinatum is discussed. The new subsp. comb. Rhus radicans subsp. negundo, R. radicans subsp. rydbergii and Smilacina racemosa subsp. amplexicaulis are made. Vincetoxicum rossicum is shown to be the sp. commonly called Cynanchum medium in N. America, Datura innoxia that called D. metel and D. meteloides, Dianthus seguieri that called D. sylvestris and Cephalaria gigantea that reported as C. alpina or C. tatarica. New distributions are given for C. gigantea in the USA and Althaea hirsuta, Ononis arvensis, Salvia plebeia, Geum urbanum and Potentilla erecta in Canada.
