Abstract

Hymenachne acutigluma in the Northern Territory.

Abstract

The distribution, fertilizer response, growth pattern, potential use and productivity of H. acutigluma are described on the basis of observations in the Northern Territory in 1971-5. The need for grazing control is emphasized and a possible management system using H. acutigluma as a pasture spp. is outlined. Herbage contained 2% N and 0.2% P and initial DM yield was 2-3.5 t/ha.
