Invasive Species Compendium

Detailed coverage of invasive species threatening livelihoods and the environment worldwide

Abstract

Species of Trichomalopsis Crawford (Hymenoptera, Pteromalidae) from rice paddy, with descriptions of two new species.

Abstract

Some taxonomic changes are proposed among pteromalids parasitising insect pests of rice in Japan. The genus Eupteromalus is synonymised with Trichomalopsis. E. parnarae Gah. is regarded as a synonym of T. apanteloctena (J.C. Crawford). T. shirakii J.C. Crawford is redefined. T. oryzae sp.n. and T. deplanata sp.n. are described. Both are primary or secondary parasites of various rice pests. A key to the 4 species of Trichomalopsis known from rice is given.
