Abstract

Pests of crops in Indonesia.

Abstract

This monograph on the pests (mainly arthropod) of economic plants and plant products and their natural enemies in Indonesia is a revised edition, in English, of a publication that first appeared in Dutch in 2 volumes [see RAE/A 39, p. 290, etc.]. Although the text has been shortened because of the current irrelevance of some of the contents of the original publication, some sections have been expanded to include some of the large amount of additional relevant material that has accumulated over the past 30 years. Because of the need for frequent revision, details of chemical control measures are not given; there is increasing emphasis on integrated control, and for many of the pests notes are given on natural enemies and their use as biological control agents.<new para>ADDITIONAL ABSTRACT:<new para>This book includes a section describing the biology of plant parasitic nematodes known to be of economic importance in Indonesia. Records of nematodes are included in the host/parasite index at the end of the book.
