Abstract

Number and viability of conidia of Cochliobolus sativus in soil profiles in summerfallow fields in Saskatchewan.

Abstract

The number and viability of Cochliobolus sativus conidia in soil profiles decreased progressively with depth in commercial fields sampled in Saskatchewan. More than 90% of the total conidia were found in the top 15 cm, and 90% of the total viable conidia were contained in the top 10 cm. Only 1% of viable conidia were found in the 20-30 cm zone.
