Susceptibility of some prostrate juniper cultivars to root rot.
The results are presented of disease severity ratings of Juniper spp. planted in soil in which many had been lost from Pythium and Phytophthora-induced root rot. Pathogens from infected plants included P. cinnamomi, Pythium torulosum, P. vexans, P. sp., Rhizoctonia solani and Macrophomina phaseolina. J. virginiana cv. Prostrate and J. scopulorum cv. Table Top Blue were the most resistant to the root rot complex of the 19 vars. tested.
