Behaviour of different olive (Olea europaea L.) cultivars to inoculation with Pseudomonas savastanoi (E.F. Smith) Stevens.
In studies with 5 cvs. a suspension of P. [syringae pv.] savastanoi at 5 X 108/ml was inoculated through slits in the stem bark. Observations 8, 11, 18, 26, 45 and 90 days later showed that cvs. differed not so much in the percentage of positive responses as in their rapidity and in the size of the knots induced.<new para>ADDITIONAL ABSTRACT:<new para>All five varieties were equally affected 26 days after inoculation. Up to this time, Coratina showed the least response.
