Detailed coverage of invasive species threatening livelihoods and the environment worldwide

Abstract

Anatomy and taxonomic position of the monogenean Heterotesia voltae Paperna, 1969.

Abstract

Heterotesia voltae from the gills of Heterotis niloticus from Oueme, Benin, is redescribed with details of the genital system and oncomiracidium. It differs from the original description by having 14 instead of 10 haptoral hooks. Heterotesia is redefined and a new family Heterotesiidae is erected to accomodate it. H. voltae is the only species of the genus.
