Abstract

Management of exotic timber trees in temperate regions of eastern North America: an assessment.

Abstract

Based on data in the literature, and experience at Kellogg Forest (SW Michigan) and Jericho Research Forest (NW Vermont), the potential was assessed of various exotic conifers and broadleaves as timber trees. Norway spruce, larches (Larix decidua, L. leptolepis and L. X eurolepis), Scots pine and English oak (Quercus robur) showed promise. From authors' summary.
