Detailed coverage of invasive species threatening livelihoods and the environment worldwide

Abstract

Detection of Corynebacterium salmoninus by direct fluorescent antibody test.

Abstract

Direct immunofluorescence was as specific as indirect immunofluorescence for detecting the agent of bacterial kidney disease, and required only 7 minutes. Direct immunofluorescence was 100-1000 times more sensitive than Gram staining. Faecal samples were superior to kidney samples for detecting subclinical infection.
