Abstract

Thysanoptera associated with horseradish in Illinois.

Abstract

A survey was conducted in Illinois from 1976 to 1978 on the species of Thysanoptera associated with horseradish. A total of 12 species was found. The 5 commonest were Thrips tabaci Lind., Sericothrips variabilis (Beach), Frankliniella fusca (Hinds), F. tritici (Fitch) and Anaphothrips obscurus (Mull.); most were also recovered from other crucifers in the state. Their potential economic importance is discussed.
