Abstract

A seed-borne virus intercepted in groundnut germplasm imported into India from the USA in 1976-77 was identified as peanut mottle virus on the basis of symptoms, host range, transmission by Myzus persicae (Sulz.) and Aphis craccivora Koch, physical properties and serology.
