Harvesting time of soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) as a factor influencing seed quality.
Two cvs. were harvested at the normal time and 2 weeks later. The pathogens Cercospora sp., Colletotrichum sp., Fusarium sp. and Phomopsis sp. were among the fungi isolated. Incidence of F. sp. was the highest, the fungus occurring at both harvests, on seeds and cotyledons. Emergence of seeds with cracks or lesions on the tegument was lower than that of apparently healthy seed. In both cvs. seed harvested 2 weeks later had lower emergence.
