Abstract

Maciella postgonoporus, found for the first time in the USSR in Dendrocopos major in the Kuraminskii mountains, Tadzhikistan, is described. The composition of the genus is discussed and the measurements of the 3 species considered valid (M. posgonoporus, M. apodemi and M. vassilevi) are tabulated.
