Fulgoroidea (Homoptera) from Viet-nam.
Among some 750 examples of Fulgoroidea collected between 1959 and 1966 in the northern part of Vietnam and now in the collection of the Institute of Zoology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, 106 species and subspecies belonging to 78 genera were found to be represented. Apart from a few widespread or oriental species, these showed an affinity with the faunas of eastern India and West Malaysia. The collection included more than 230 examples of the rice pest Nilaparvata lugens (Stal) and more than 80 examples, mostly female, of a species of Toya. Among the remaining species, it was found necessary to erect 10 new genera and describe 29 new species and 7 subspecies.
