West Indian Coccinellidae II (Coleoptera): some scale predators with keys to genera and species.
The purpose of this paper is to describe new species, provide keys for the genera and species, and record the prey (including scales of economic importance, especially Aspidiotus destructor Sign., Pseudaulacaspis pentagona (Targ.), Saissetia oleae (Ol.) (Lecanium oleae) and Asterolecanium) of some coccinellids recently received from the Commonwealth Institute of Biological Control in Trinidad. The food-plants on which the prey was found, or with which the coccinellids were associated, included coconut, coffee, and cotton in several islands of the West Indies. One new genus and 4 new species are described, and among several taxonomic changes proposed, Scymnus aeneipennis Sic. is transferred to Zagloba. The keys provided are for the species of Coccidophilus, the genera of Scymnillini, the species of Zagloba, the genera of Scymnini, and the species of Nephaspis.
