Invasive Species Compendium

Detailed coverage of invasive species threatening livelihoods and the environment worldwide

Abstract

Aphid species recorded in summer 1976 on various plants in Attica and Korinthia (Greece).

Abstract

Tables are presented listing the 27 different species of aphids collected in 1976 on 23 species of plants (including vegetable crops, ornamental plants and fruit and forest trees) in the Greek Provinces of Attica and Korinthia; data on the family, food-plant, and place and date of collection are also listed for each species. Little literature is available on Greek aphids, and of the species collected in the present study only Toxoptera aurantii (Boy.) (on orange), Myzus persicae (Sulz.) (on Campsis chinensis), Aulacorthum solani (Kalt.) (on Zinnia elegans), Aphis gossypii Glov. (on pumpkin and ornamental plants) and A. craccivora Koch (on tomato) were already known in Greece, where they had been previously collected from citrus [see RAE/A 60, 257].
