New records of pest on wheat.
A survey conducted in wheat fields in Punjab, India, in 1971-74 revealed the presence of 13 arthropod pests previously unrecorded in the State. These were Odontotermes bellahunisensis guptai Roonwal & Bose (O. guptai), Eremotermes paradoxalis Hlmgr., Aethus laticollis Wagn., Rhopalosiphum rufiabdominalis (Sasaki), Sitobion miscanthi (Tak.) (Macrosiphum miscanthi), Haplothrips ganglbaueri Schumtz, Thrips flavus Schr., Zyginidia manaliensis (Singh), Bagrada hilaris (Burm.) (cruciferarum Kirk.), Phytomyza nigra Mg., Euproctis virguncula Wlk., Acarus sp. and Caloglyphus krameri (Berl.). Eremotermes paradoxalis, S. miscanthi and Z. manaliensis were considered to be the most important.
