The world's worst weeds. Distribution and biology.
This handbook is an inventory of the principal weeds of the world's major crops. Part 1 describes the biology, distribution and seriousness of 76 species. The 10 worst are Cyperus rotundus, Cynodon dactylon, Echinochloa colonum, Eleusine indica, Sorghum halepense, Imperata cylindrica, Eichhornia crassipes, Portulaca oleracea and Chenopodium album. Part 2 gives a description of 16 major crops in relation to the weed problem: cassava, coffee, maize, cotton, grapes, groundnuts, pineapples, potatoes, rice, rubber, sorghum, soya beans, sugar-beets, sugar-cane, tea and wheat.
