Abstract

The occurrence of the fungus Nematosphera coryli Peglion in bugs attacking soy bean.

Abstract

The fungus Nematospora coryli, which causes a disease known as yeast-spot on soy bean, has recently been found on this crop in Brazil. Since it was known that elsewhere Hemiptera were involved in the dissemination of the fungus, bugs were collected in soy-bean fields and examined in the laboratory. The fungus was isolated from Nezara viridula (L.) and Piezodorus guildinii (Westw.) but not from Edessa meditabunda (F.) or Dichelops furcatus (F.).
