Preliminary study on woodwool board made of five wood species from W. Java.
Test methods were similar to those in work already noticed [see FA 36, 4322]. Altingia excelsa and Nyssa javanica were judged as good for wood-wool board, Khaya sp. was intermediate, and Eucalyptus deglupta and Swietenia mahagoni were poor. Trial boards were made from two species: A. excelsa yielded boards complying with DIN 1101, whereas E. deglupta boards were below standard.
