Abstract

Studies on the chemical control of injurious mites in fruit orchards.

Abstract

Tests were carried out in 1968-72, with specific acaricides and other pesticides with acaricidal activity, against Bryobia rubrioculus (Scheuten), Panonychus ulmi (Koch) and Tetranychus viennensis Zacher in apple orchards in different parts of Rumania. The results, details of which are given in tables, demonstrated the effectiveness of an emulsion of propargite (Omite), two mixed formulations of chlorfenethol and chlorfensulphide (Milbex and Anilix), fenazaflor (Lovozal), chlordimeform (Galecron) and dicofol (Kelthane) and ethion (Sintox), 1-2 applications being required according to their persistence. The influence of the persistence and nature of the product, the test period, the location of the tests, the number of applications, the pest species, and unpredictable factors, were evaluated and interpreted statistically.
