Abstract
Isolates from adzuki [Phaseolus angularis], kidney and Spanish runner beans [P. vulgaris], lima bean [P. lunatus], soybean, eggplant, tomato and potato were morphologically and pathologically identical. In cross inoculations the symptoms produced on each host were similar. Adzuki bean was the most susceptible host, irrespective of inoculum source. A. sojaecola, A. melongenae and A. [Didymella] lycopersici are considered synonyms of A. phaseolorum, which has priority.
