Abstract

The third set of descriptions of plant-parasitic nematodes published by the Commonwealth Institute of Helminthology takes the same form as sets 1 and 2. The nematodes described are: Meloidogyne hapla, Aphelenchoides ritzemabosi, Hoplolaimus pararobustus, Tylenchulus semipenetrans, Cephalenchus emarginatus, Ditylenchus myceliophagus, Pratylenchus vulnus, Pratylenchoides crenicauda, Tylenchorhynchus claytoni, Belonolaimus longicaudatus, Hemicriconemoides chitwoodi, Criconemoides morgensis, Hemicyliophora arenaria, Cacopaurus pestis and Xiphinema index. For each species there is a detailed morphological description, an account of its biology and host-parasite relationships, geographical distribution, control (if known) and comprehensive literature citations.
