Abstract

Abdominal angiostrongyliasis. The first human case in Honduras.

Abstract

The first human case of abdominal Angiostrongylus costaricensis infection outside Costa Rica is reported from Honduras. Clinical and pathological findings were identical to those observed in previous cases. Slugs (Vaginulus plebeius) harbouring 3rd-stage larvae of A. costaricensis were found in vicinity of the patient's house.
