Insect pests of the forests of Yakutia.
This monograph has two introductory chapters describing natural conditions in Central Yakutia and the main characteristics of the forests (predominantly Larix gmelinii, followed by Pinus sylvestris, and, lastly, broadleaved species - Betula platyphylla and Populus tremula). The major part of the book consists of notes on the biology and ecology of the main individual pest species, and the damage caused, grouped under three headings: pests of fruits and seeds, pests of foliage, and stem pests. The remaining chapters cover parasites and predators, and control measures. A complete list of insect pests found in the region is appended.
