New contributions to the fungus flora of Turkey.
AbstractThis critically annotated list of additions to the mycoflora of Turkey [cf. R.A.M., 27, p. 349; 29, p. 335, et passim] comprises, inter alia, 19 new species (including Septoria adanensis), seven new combinations, and the following records of special interest: Tilletia hordei on Hordeum sp. [8, p. 339], Puccinia decipiens on Taraxacum koksaghyz, P. junci and Stagonospora vexata on chicory, Uredo ravennae (mostly parasitized by Darluca filum) on Erianthus ravennae, Haplosporella mali [Physalospora obtusa[Botryosphaeria obtusa]: 15, p. 31] on apple, Plenodomus [Phoma] lingam on Raphanus raphanistrum, and Septoria carthami on safflower [27, p. 383].
S. adanensis, forming confluent, irregular, dark olivaceous to nigrescent lesions, 2 to or rarely up to 8 mm. in diameter, on living foliage of Chrysanthemum indicum, differs from other S. spp. on the same host in its much smaller pycnidia (50 to 60 µ in diameter) and conidia (23 to 35 or occasionally up to 40 by 1.5 to 2µ).
