Abstract

Biomass yield and tree survival data are summarized for plantations of 13 clones of hybrid poplars (Populus spp.) halfway through an expected 10-yr rotation on sites in Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.

Abstract

Hybrid poplar [Populus spp.] plantations were established in 1986-88 at 9 sites across Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota and South Dakota. Greater than expected early yields were obtained. Potential yields and uncertainties in the estimates are discussed.
