Strategic management in tourism.

Book cover for Strategic management in tourism.

Description

The structure of this 3rd edition remains the same, with the exception of a whole new Part IV dealing with the 'New Business Ecosystem and Stakeholder-Driven Strategy'. All the 20 chapters have been updated or are totally new contributions. Part I ('Tourism Environment, Economic Development, Forecasting and Trends') brings in new insights into the future economic development in tourism. Part II ('Integrated Management in Tourism') includes two brand new topics: strategic creativity in tourism business and technology management in tourism. Other topics addressed in this part include consumer behaviour, strategic innovation, human resource management, and financial management. Part III ('Strategic Vision and Management in Tourism') has been revamped by the inclusion of four completely new chapters to complement the areas of process-based management and international strategies in tourism. These new chapters cover subjects such as strategic thinking in tourism, new strategic paradigm, new performance measurements, as well as crisis management and its strategic implications. The new Part IV covers topics such as stakeholder engagement in tourism, authenticity in tourism, tourism resources and sustainability, as well as new strategic developments in tourism.
